It's Only Words!!
06.30.04 (9:44 pm)   [edit]
It is so easy for us to open our mouth and speak. What is hard to do, is to know when to shut our mouth and listen.

To hear what is being said, rather than interjecting our thoughts, our defense, to justify ourselves for the things we do, especially those things we know we should not say.

It is so easy to say something in the heat of the moment. Then we are unable to retrieve that word spoken, that has gone forth and like an arrow it struck the target spot on and the damage is done. We have wounded someone with the words of our mouth and it pierced their inner most being.

How many of us know that we are accountable for every word that comes out of our mouth, wither they be words of encouragement, exhortation or words that tear down and destroy another. How quick are we to pick up the phone, or use e-mail or chat online and say something like, “You want to hear something interesting?” or do we simply say, “I have a prayer request for you. The Lord knows the details, so please lift them before the Lord.”

Do we stop and think! “Lord, is this pleasing to you? Will this lift up that person or are we just repeating what someone else has said and call it prayer?”

We are to build up, not tear down. We are to encourage, exhort, lift up those who are in the storms of life, who are fighting life’s daily battles. We are to help carry the burden, to bring it to the Lord so He can deal with it.

Let us take charge of those words that flow from our lips. Stop and ask the Lord if this will lift up or tear down that person. Decide wither we are asking for prayer or giving a blow by blow account of why you need to pray.

We need to be careful not to wound others with our words, let our words bring life and strength to others. When they are down, let us lift them up, when they are discouraged, encourage them. If they need a hug, give them a hug. But most importantly show them the love that comes from the Lord, that will be as a soothing healing balm to the wounds of their spirit.

By Faith!!
06.29.04 (10:30 pm)   [edit]
Sitting on the porch, oil lamp lit, soft glow and a sense of the presence of the Lord. It seems almost impossible that one can have such peace in the midst of so many things going on.

Yet that is exactly the way things have been in my life lately. The Lord enables me to live and walk in the real world, not as some “spiritual giant” who never has any “problems” with that silly grin on his face, that mask that says everything is ok when it isn’t.

I think in life we are always going to face challeges, battles and obstacles. Again, it is how we deal with them that matters and they produce character and faith to trust in God. It is an act of faith, of believing, of trusting, of overcoming. By faith we are made strong in Him whom we believe.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the word of God. As we spend time in the word, as we spend time in His presence, that is the time when we learn to become like Him. The more time we spend with the Lord, the more we become like Him and take on His character. That we are being transformed into a new creation even as He reveals Himself to us.

It is relational. It is getting to know Him. May we ever draw close to the Lord and find our strength in Him!

Good Afternoon Lord!!
06.29.04 (10:58 am)   [edit]
“Good afternoon Lord”

“Good afternoon Paul!”

“Sure is a beautiful day. I really am enjoying the rain, the cool breeze and the peace of your presence.”

“Thank you. I really like it when you take time to visit with me. I am always blessed to visit with my children. It's a time for them to get to know me and for me to know them. It really does My heart good when my children take time to talk to me, wither in the morning or in the evening or anytime during the day, it thrills me to hear their voices.”

“You mean we can really bring joy to your heart, it’s that important to you?”

“Yes, I have always enjoyed communicating with my children. I love having that heart to heart relationship with them. I enjoy the times of fellowship, of laughter, of joy and in the times of sorrow, of hurt, of fear, even then I am there to comfort my children.”

“We have made things awfully complicated at times haven’t we?”

“Yes, at times you do"

“Lord, will you teach us how to communicate and share with you?”

“Yes”

“It is a matter of becoming still and allowing me to reveal myself to you. I know it is not easy to be still and quiet with so many things going on but as you continue to come into my presence, you will come to that place of quietness and rest. Often times I will speak through my word, through those that I send your way and in the times that you simply come into my presence and allow me to bring you to a place of stillness in me so that I can speak to your heart.”

“You mean like your doing right now, even as I am writing this sitting here at Isaacks?”

“Yes.”

“Lord thank you for the peace and rest that I sense this morning. Lord I ask that you would touch the hearts of those that read Hill Country Thoughts today. That you would bring peace and rest, comfort to those this morning who are going through the battles of life and that you would lead them in this day. Give them hope and let them see you with a new heart and a new spirit. Restore to them that which has been taken away and Lord thank you for your Son Jesus, who has open the door into your presence.”

“Your welcome.”

“Remember that I look forward to spending time with you. I always have time for my children.”

In The Palm of His Hands!
06.28.04 (2:46 pm)   [edit]
Sitting on the porch looking out the screen, looking off into the distance and ...

“Lord?”

“Yes!”

“I am back. It seems to be one of those days that I am not sure of myself and I feel like a leaf in the wind being blown back and forth and it causes me to wonder if I am really hearing from you? If I am walking the path that you have set before me? Is this normal, am I missing you, am I off target?”

“No, your not off target. You are where I want you. You are in the place where I can talk to you, reveal myself to you. You are in the place where I can work in you, to mold you and shape you into that vessel that can be used for me.”

“But Lord, it is so uncomfortable. It's like being on the edge of a cliff and I am about to fall off. I am afraid!”

“I know!”

“I am here. I will not leave you or forsake you. I will hold you in the palm of My Hands. Don’t you remember when you were young and you dreamed that as you were walking down the road that a hand extended from heaven and you stepped into the palm of that hand and were lifted up?”

“Yes Lord, I remember. It gave me such a peace and a rest and a joy.”

“And when I came to know your son Jesus as my Lord and Savior, even then you brought that back to my remembrance and made it more real. It seems like I have forgotten about that doesn’t it?”

“Yes”

“You mean even over the last few years, as I have walked this path, as I have gone through these battles in my life, that even in all of this I was in the Palm of Your Hands?”

“Yes”

“Who do you think has carried you through all of this? I have been with you each and every step of the way and yes, I know it is hard.”

“Even now I am preparing the way before you so that you can put forth my word, to share this hope with others, that they will see that it is ok to have doubts, to have fears, to be afraid and then for my children to realize that they can come to me and talk and share and give me those burdens, those wounds, those hurts and I will replace it with my love, my rest, my peace. I will replace it with faith. With that mustard seed of faith, though small, that will remove those fears, those hurts, those pains and that will allow me to apply my healing to my children's hearts, to their inner most being.”

“Father, you mean we can experience that even now? Your peace, your joy, your grace?”

“Yes. Are not my mercies new each day. Is not each day a new day, a new beginning, a fresh start when you come to me?”

“Yes”

“Father, thank you for talking to me. Thank you for the rest, the comfort and strength to walk with you and thank you for removing those doubts, those fears. Thank you for holding me in the Palm of Your Hands.”

“Your welcome!”

“Remember I am always here for you and as you seek me, you will find me.”

Storm Clouds Are Coming!
06.27.04 (6:24 pm)   [edit]
Sitting on the porch watching some of the biggest, meanest looking dark clouds roll in. The wind is blowing and there is thunder and lightening.

You know what am doing? I am rejoicing, giving thanks to the Lord for the rain, the cool breeze and the release from the heat of the last few days as the Lord gives us a spectacular show, complete with sound effects!

What comes to mind right now as I am sitting here is the fact that the Lord is my shelter, my strong tower, my strength and my defence even in the midst of the storm.

How we react is what makes the difference in our walk with the Lord. Each day we have to make choices and decisions that effect us and those around us. We can choose to walk around with a woe is me, no one cares, why even bother attitude or we can walk in faith knowing that the Lord is in charge and well aware and He will speak to us. Through His word, through a friend. There are so many ways He will answer if we simply look to Him with a heart of faith. No, it isn’t easy, but then it wouldn’t be faith, would it?

So how are we going to react to the storms that are a coming? Are we going to see them as that which fine tunes us, sharpens us and makes us press in even more to the Lord or are we going to let it defeat us and bring us down?

As for me I choose to press on in, to allow the effects of the storm to work in my life, to remove all that is not of the Lord and that a freshness and a cleansing comes forth and knowing that I can continue to press on even more and that the Lord will continue to mold and shape me into an instrument to be used in His hands.

Each day is a new day, a new choice, an opportunity to grow in the things of the Lord. It is a time of learning to come into His presence, of meditating in His word and letting it become real within and applying it to our every day life. Realizing that we really can walk in the Lord here and now.

Today is the Day that the Lord has made! The choice is yours!

Paul

When is Enough, Enough?
06.26.04 (3:04 pm)   [edit]
Do you ever wonder, "Lord, when is enough, enough? When does it stop, when does the attack of the enemy cease?"

The answer of course is they never cease. We will always be engaged with spiritual warfare, with life's battles.

How we react, that is the question! How we deal with the things in our life, the daily battles, physical and spiritual, the attacks on our minds!

The one thing that I have learned over the last couple of years, in the midst of the battle with cancer, with chemo and radiation, with two major surgeries (I am cancer free now), the moving away of our children and grand-children, the oldest and her family to Virginia and the two youngest to Colorado to YWAM, the divorce and the fire yesterday in Colorado.

I have learned that the Lord reigns. He is still on the throne and the only thing that the enemy of my soul has done is increase my anger and my childrens anger toward him and it has increased our faith and trust in the Lord even more, knowing that the Lord will intervene on our behalf.

I know there is a time coming when all that has been taken will be restored and the Lord will be glorified because I know that I am where the Lord wants me right now, even though the path has been hard, He is still leading and guiding and giving me the strength to walk this path, and it is His strength because I could not do it.

In walking this path I am becoming more intimate with the Lord. Learning to communicate with Him. I think that is one of the things we have lost is how to communicate with our Father and by doing so we have forgotten how to communicate with each other.

As husbands and wives, as friends, we have forgotten how to talk, how to share, to let each other know what we feel, of being honest, wither happy or sad. We want to put on a face, rather than be honest and that shuts down the flow that is needed with the Lord and with each other. There is nothing wrong in telling the Lord, I hurt, I am angry, I am mad. Most of the time the Lord, as well as friends can see, that what we say, does not line up with what they see.

It is one of the things that the Lord is teaching me. To come to Him, to sit and to just talk. He wants to visit with us, He wants to talk with us when we come to him in prayer, in worship, in praise. Even when we come to Him in tears, with a heart that is breaking, He wants to listen.

All these events in my life to date have caused me to grow, to become stronger in the Lord, not in myself but in Him. He has given me strength, He has given me peace beyond understanding, He has given us His Spirit to enable us to walk the path that we are on. Sometimes on the mountain top and sometimes in the valley, but the thing is, He is with us no matter where we are and we need to remember that.

So when is enough, enough? Most likely when the Lord returns :)

In the mean time we must choose how to react. Allow defeat or victory? I am not a supersaint, I have a lot of friends who will tell you that. :)

Yes, there are days it seems like if the hole gets any deeper, I won't be able to get out but the minute I turned to the Lord and say "I need you Lord." He is there !!

He will never leave us or forsake us and in the midst of our tears He will comfort us!

Till later,

Paul

Special Prayer Request
06.25.04 (3:36 pm)   [edit]
Elise, our youngest daughter called about a hour and a half ago from Youth With A Mission-SF in Colorado Springs, Co where she and our son Joshua are at. They have had severe storms, etc.

Lighting hit the main storage building where most all of their personal things were stored, clothing, furniture, personal effects, Joshua's books, journals and so forth. They are pretty distressed but also know the Lord is with them even in all of this.

The fire department was still fighting the fire when she called. The rest of the base is ok. All that Josh and Elise have is what is in their rooms.

Please keep them in your prayers. They ask that you pray for the base and for the leaders, etc.

Thank you for praying for our children!

Paul

It's Me Lord!!
06.25.04 (12:14 pm)   [edit]
It sure seems like I have a lot of conversations with the Lord lately!

I have discovered that He really likes it when we talk to Him and it really pleases Him when we learn to listen.

I am sitting here at Isaacks Restaurant having a cup of coffee, looking out the window and ...

“Lord! You know there are a lot of questions going on in my mind. Trying to figure things out. Wondering how I can change them. Why are these things happening in my life?

“I noticed!”

“You Did?”

“Yes! I thought you already gave me those burdens, those hurts, those wounds, those misunderstandings!”

“I did”

“Then why did you pick them up again? Can I not take care of these things?”

“Yes”

“I know your heart. I am aware of all that needs to be done and I want you to trust me and see that I am able to work on your behalf as you focus on me!”

“I am a Father. I know the needs of my children. When they ask for bread, I will not give them a stone!”

“I know Lord, but it is so hard!”

“I know! I have not given you a spirit of fear but a sound mind. A heart that can trust and focus on me. I have given you my Spirit and I will increase your faith that I have given you. Just trust me and be still and know that I am God and I am working on your behalf. I will fulfill my word to you”

“You will Lord?”

“Yes!”

“Lord?”

“Yes”

“Teach me your ways. Make your word real and alive in me. Help me to know you more Lord!”

“And Father, I love you!”

“I love you too”

Paul

Zip It Too!!
06.24.04 (9:47 am)   [edit]
"Good Morning Lord!"

"Good Morning!"

"It sure is a beautiful day today. Such a peaceful and restful day. Thank you Lord."

"Your Welcome!"

"Did you happen to read Kiwi Christian and Sparrow's Blogs?"

"Yep, sure did!!"

"I thought it was pretty cool how Kiwi used the term Zip It and I so appreciated the thoughts that Sparrow shared. What they both shared spoke volumes to me today. It is really neat how you bring so many things together with those who are blogging."

"It's like your trying to get a certain message across!"

"You Think?" :D

"Boy, it really is important to learn to zip it, isn't it? To watch the things that we say, the things that we pass on and what we say about others. It seems like it is so easy for us to repeat things without even thinking about it. You know, making statements such as, "Did you hear about so and so?" or "Oh, you ought to hear about this!" "Sounds like gossip doesn't it?"

"Yep, it sure does!"

"That really bothers you doesn't it?"

"Yes it does! I have seen so many of My children hurt by things that have been said or repeated by those who are called by My Name and it really grieves My Heart to see the wounds that have been inflicted on my children"

"So often my children don't even take time to stop and think and wonder. They just repeat what they hear, rather than choosing to not repeat it, they whisper, they call, they e-mail and repeat things without a second thought of the damage that it might do!!"

"Lord!"

"Yes"

"Am I guilty too?"

"Yes"

"Oh Lord, I am so sorry. Please forgive me and help me to Zip It too. To put a guard on my lips, on my mouth, on my tongue. Help me to lift up my brothers and sisters. Help me to build them up and not tear them down. Help me to encourage, exhort and to lift up others so that they may reach their full potential. Help me to not be a repeater of tales or rumors."

"Lord?"

"Yes!"

"Thank you for your forgiveness!!"

"Your welcome!!"

Till later,

Paul

With My Whole Heart!
06.23.04 (1:46 pm)   [edit]
“I will praise you, O Lord, with my whole heart: I will show forth (recount and tell aloud) all your marvelous works and wonderful deeds! I will rejoice in You and be in high Spirits: I will sing praises to your Name, O Most High.” Psalms 9:1-2 Amplified Bible

What an awesome Psalms. Here is King David, a man with a heart after God but a man who made all kinds of mistakes, who stumbled and fell many times but got back up, took action and pursued God with his whole being.

Like David, I can say, “I will Praise you O Lord. I will Praise you, I will Praise you with my whole heart, with my whole being will I exalt You. I will show forth, I will recount all that you have done. How you have been with me, how you have comfort me, how you have given me the strength to walk this path that I am on. Not only will I recount it, I will tell aloud of all that you have done, of your marvelous works, of the changes that you have brought into my life, of your provisions, of your guidance and of your deeds on my behalf.

I will rejoice in you Lord and I will be in High Spirits, I will sing Praises to your Name, O Most High. I will be exceedingly glad in you. Even this day, I will rejoice in my Lord and Savior. I will exalt Him and declare His mighty name and His life changing power.

How are you today?

Are you cast down? Heavy burdened?

Then like David, take action, don’t allow the enemy of your soul to rob you of that which the Lord has given you. Set your heart to worship the Lord, even when it does not make sense, even when you don’t feel like it. I am here to tell you that as you begin to worship the Lord, to open your heart, your mouth, your spirit and just begin to give thanks, as you make that sacrifice of praise He will give you the strength that you need to walk this day and each day.

Watch and see the Lord work on your behalf. It is a process and it will not happen over night, but it will happen as you pursue Him and give Him that sacrifice of Praise, even in the dark night of the soul, worship and praise will bring a freedom to you, it will bring release, as you lay it all at the feet of Jesus.

Take time to lift your heart to the Lord and let Him know how you feel and then release it to Him. Whether in song, in words, in prayer or worship, release it all to Him this day!

Till Later,

Paul

What A Day!!
06.22.04 (8:42 pm)   [edit]
Today has really been an awesome day.

It has been a day of sensing the presence of the Lord. From the moment I awoke to the closing of the day. I feel as if the Lord gave me a little taste of what it is going to be like to spend eternity with our Father. That we will know true joy. Joy unspeakable and full of glory!!

Even as Lewis and I prayed this morning, there was that same presence of the Lord. An awareness that the Lord took delight in our coming together in His name and bringing before Him those things that He placed on our hearts to pray for and to intercede for this morning. It brought joy to the heart of God.

Isn't it amazing, that we can bring joy to the creator of Heaven and Earth. And what is more awesome, is that we get to come into His presence and partake of that joy ourselves.

And you know what else the Lord showed me is that He really loves to see those who are called by His name come together and share as we do daily. Even as we blog, we can share the reality of the Lord.

It so amazes me to think that here we are, from all over the world, sharing the reality of the Lord. Sharing the fact that we can live and walk in the real world, serving a real Lord. That He is not a theory, He is a reality!

It is really awesome to realize that I can sit here in my study/office and be in fellowship with other brothers and sisters in the Lord from all over the world no matter where they aret. In the kitchen, on the beach (its possible), at the dining room table, were ever the computer is at, we can encourage, strengthen and lift up one another in the Lord.

That the net can be used for the Glory of the Lord!

Awesome, when you think about it!!

Till tomorrow!

Paul

A Conversation With God
06.21.04 (7:49 pm)   [edit]
I am sitting here on the porch, scratching my head and thinking to myself, wondering what to write?

"You know Lord, I am here. I am waiting!"

"Hello, Anyone here?

"Yes, I am here!!"

"Your here Lord?"

"Yes!"

"You did ask me to come join you, didn't you?"

"Yes!"

"Well, I am here!"

"You mean I can have a two way converstation with you? You will really listen to me?"

"Yes! I am your Father."

"I didn't really realize that I could have a conversation with you, that you would make your self known to me. I thought you where way off somewhere and didn't have time for me!"

"Why would you think that? I always have time for my children. I love to listen to them when they call me, when they come into my presence, when they cry out to me, I am here for them, even when they don't think I am, I am, and I will always be here for my children."

And He is. I know, as I have shared many times recently, that He is always there for us. He wants to visit us, listen to us, He loves it when we worship and praise Him and He also loves to give comfort and rest, peace in the storms and assurance as we walk with Him in this walk of faith of trusting Him each and every day.

So, have a little talk with your Heavenly Father and let Him know that you love Him, and would like to climb up into His lap as it where and just fellowship with Him and listen to His heartbeat for you!

Till later,

Paul

A Heart of Joy!!
06.19.04 (9:22 am)   [edit]
It is really refreshing to wake with a heart that is full of joy, peace and rest.

Yes, even in the midst of the storms we can know the peace and the joy of the Lord.

A joy that gives comfort of the heart. A peace that floods your soul and soothes the hurts, the pains, that applies the balm, the healing power of the Lord.

It gives you a heart of worship, of forgiveness and it allows you to see with the eyes of the Lord.

It gives you compassion for others. An ear to listen, a mouth to speak that which will lift others up. A heart to care and pray for others.

I know the peace and rest that I have within is beyond anything the world can offer and it is a peace, a rest and a joy that the world cannot take away.

Focus your hearts this day on the Lord. Remember those times of fellowship, the quiet times, the times of joy, of tears and the times of His awesome presence.

Ask the Lord to allow you to see how He see's, to hear how He hears and to love with His love those that He brings into your path today.

May the Joy of The Lord be yours this day!

Till later,

Paul

True Story, Really!!
06.18.04 (11:59 am)   [edit]
Hi Everyone!!

I thought I would "go lightly" today [there is a joke in there, if you have ever gone through a colonoscopy :-)]

I wanted to share a true story with you all today. This really did happen, honest :-)

Lisa Wiener, who is the Moderator of the Christian Writers Group, posted this to the list May 2003 while I was having surgery and I did not know anything about it until I was out of the hospital and perusing through the posts to CWG and I was surprised and blessed, so here is the rest of the story as shared by Lisa Wiener of the Christian Writers Group:

Subject: Inspiring Story...

Hi All,

I shared with CWG-Prayer (CWG's Prayer List) yesterday that one of our co-moderators (Paul Dawn) came through his surgery OK yesterday, but required a permanent colostomy. The good news is that they think they got all cancer and no further treatments will be necessary!

But I had to share with ALL of you today, because as writers I know you would appreciate this inspiring story (and one that made my husband and I giggle a little last night...)

About 10PM my time the phone rang. I was in the back room, so I didn't hear it, but my husband (Dave) answered the phone.

Not too long afterwards, Dave popped his head in the door of the room in which I was relaxing.

"Did you hear the phone?" he asked.

"No."

"Well, you won't believe who it was..."

"Who?" I asked expectantly.

"I could barely believe it, but it was Paul Dawn," he answered.

"You're kidding!"

"Yeah, he called from ICU.. and I said, 'What on earth are you doing on the phone???' He said he was calling from his cell phone - from ICU - and he replied to Dave's inquiry with, 'I've got minutes!'"

We laughed. "You're kidding!" I repeated. Then I said, "Well, I wonder if he might even remember calling us.. coming off all the drugs and all.. he may not even remember!" We laughed again.

"He said that he just wanted us to know that everything turned out OK.. and that he was doing OK.. that he's sore and knows what was done, but has perfect peace about everything."

Now see, THAT is what I consider the part of this inspiring story!

Here is Paul Dawn. As long as I have known this man "online," I've known him to be a prayer warrior. He doesn't always see it, but so often I'd get an ICQ message from him, letting me know he'd prayed for me and my family that day.. for CWG.. for others, etc. This happened long before he ever became one of CWG's co-mods and you bet it is one of the reasons I sought him out when it was TIME to add another co-mod!

Anyway, here is this praying man.. calling us from his bed in ICU.. after extensive surgery (probably about 5 hours or so???) to let us know he's alright and to tell us he has perfect peace!

Now if that isn't something, I don't know what is, folks.

I'm sure when Paul returns, he will have stories to share.. and he already told me that throughout his whole ordeal he has been writing and keeping notes so he can write about all his experiences later.

Anyway, keep praying for Paul's recovery... he really is quite a remarkable man. He has also told me he would LIKE to come to our conference so let's pray he might be able to.. as I'm sure many would like to meet him and he'd like to meet you, too. :)

God bless!

PS - Hey maybe when Paul is all healed up, one of those phone companies might just use him for a phone commercial.. calling from his hospital bed in ICU... stating with confidence, "I've got minutes!" LOL!!!!

Note: Anyway, I hope you all were blessed as you read it. I know that I was and everytime I think about sitting in the hospital bed in the ICU with my cell phone, saying " I've Got Minutes" I just begin to laugh and believe it or not, it brought back good memories as I got to minister, encourage and lift up others while I was in the hospital.

By the way, if anyone from the phone companies are reading, I am available for commercials :-)

Till later!!

Here I am Lord!!
06.17.04 (4:52 am)   [edit]
It is about 01:30 in the morning as I am sitting here on the porch writing and just thinking about the awesomeness of God and how much He cares for us.

I wish you all were sitting here on the porch with me listening to the sounds of the crickets, it is like a symphony of praise, so peaceful and in harmony, flowing together and soothing the soul.

It is always a blessing to our heavenly Father when we come into His presence to just love Him and worship Him.

To be in His word and to allow Him to speak to us and make Himself real.

I know that the peace of God that I have right now, that I am experiencing is beyond anything that man could do for me as I walk this path.

It is a peace and comfort that only God can give and to me that is truly awesome, that He has flooded my inner most being with a calmness and peace that is beyond the understanding of the natural mind, that I can lean my head on His shoulders and He listens to my heart beat and knows all the areas that need His touch, His anointing and He knows that which is needed each day as I come into His presence.

He is our comfort, our peace, our Father and He truly is there for us, even when we can’t “see Him, feel Him”, he is still there and when He reveals Himself, it is life changing, it is breath taking and it is beyond words of man to truly be able to describe but there is one thing I know. My Lord is alive and sitting at the right hand of the Father, as my advocate and that He has open the door of access to come into His presence.

Is that not awesome. That God rejoices when we come into His presence. It thrills Him when we take time to dwell with Him, that He desires our fellowship.

Let us respond with a heart that is focused each day on Him and say “Here I am Lord.”

Till Later!!

Paul

Wait!! Don't Hit The Enter Key!!
06.16.04 (12:35 pm)   [edit]
Sitting here at Isaacks, one of my favorite local restaurants looking out the window. Watching the traffic flow and wondering about the people driving by. Wondering what things are on their heart, their minds, what battles are they fighting? What stories do they have to tell?

We all have things we can share. Thoughts, ideas, hopes and dreams. We can build each other up. We can fellowship, talk and share just like we do each day here.

We never know what we might share today or tomorrow, what kind of an impact it will have on others. It is so very important to have control of our tongue or pen or in this case the keyboard. That little weapon, the tongue can get us into a lot of trouble. It can bring life or death. It can build up or tear down.

The word’s we speak, the words we type and the words we send have the power to bring life or death to the heart, to the spirit of someone and once that word is spoken or sent out, it is impossible to retrieve. It is like an e-mail or post that we send in the heat of anger, it is gone and cannot be retrieved.

Let us watch over this unruly member, the tongue. Let us set up a guard in our heart, let us ask the Lord to help us to watch over the words that we speak, the words that we send. Let us take time to sit back and reflect for a little while before we speak or hit the send key.

Let us speak life encouraging words. Let us be honest but reflect for a moment before we open our mouth or hit the send key!

Till later!

Paul

Don't You Care Lord?
06.15.04 (9:46 am)   [edit]
I was wondering what to write today after the events of Monday in my life.

The enemy of my soul would have me go to pieces, to turn on God and say "How could you let this happen?" "Why didn't you intervene?" "Don't you see what this is doing to me Lord? Don't you see the hurt, the pain, the suffering, the grieving of my spirit? Don't you care Lord? Don't you understand?"

And the answer is yes, of course He does. He cares and is there for us during these times. To comfort us, to hold us and to make Himself real to us. It is easy to love the Lord when everything is going along fine. The hard part is loving the Lord in the midst of the storm, in the battles of life. To praise Him even when everything within you is crying I can’t do it and your right we can’t but He can.

As we begin to open our mouth and begin to praise Him and lift Him up and begin to worship Him, then the peace of the Lord will begin to fill us and fill in those areas of pain, of hurt, of greiving, of feeling that you are totally alone in the world. He makes Himself known to us in new ways and gives us strength to walk in His path and not only that but as I shared yesterday, He gives us friends who will be there to pray with us, stand with us and cry with us and see us through the dark night of the soul and then to know that joy comes in the morning, the sun does rise and we go on in the Lord. Trusting Him and loving Him, knowing that He already has made away for us if we will but call upon Him!

So yes, yesteday did hurt, it cut deep into my innermost being and it felt like my heart was ripped asunder. But the one thing that I do know is that in the midst of all this, the Lord is bringing healing to my heart, to my mind, and to my spirit and that He is with me as He is with those that call out to Him in the midst of the storms.

This is not a time to give up but a time to rise up and see the Lord strong and mighty. To allow Him to speak to us and say “Peace, be still and know that I am God.”

Let us draw strength from Him!

Till later,

Paul

Special Prayer Request
06.14.04 (8:58 pm)   [edit]
Dear Friends,

I have a special prayer request for you! It is one that I debated about posting. But I promised the Lord that I would be honest and real with Hill Country Thoughts and this is part of real life.

Today is the hardest day of my life. As of this morning, Monday June 14, I received the final Decree of Divorce that my wife filed, from the Court.

It is as if half of my heart has been torn from me. Twenty-nine years by the stroke of a pen in the eyes of the law of Texas has been wipe away as if they do not exist.

This is not something I chose or wanted. I pray that the Lord be with her. That he meet the needs of her heart and that He bless her and watch over her. Pray that the wounds of both our hearts will be healed.

I know that the Lord will watch over our children, our grandkids and that He will protect them.

I ask that you would lift me in your prayers as I continue to pursue the Lord with Hill Country Thoughts, with writing, with sharing and putting forth what the Lord writes on my heart.

May God Bless you all. Thank you for your prayers. They have been much appreciated.

With Love,

Paul

Friends
06.14.04 (5:40 am)   [edit]
A friend is someone you can count on. Someone who is going to be there for you through thick and thin. They will be with you through life’s battles. Through the times of victory and in the times of defeat.

A friend has a gift for showing up at the right place, at the right time, at the moment you need that word of comfort, a pat on the back or a word of insight that will help you in life’s decisions.

A friend is someone who will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. They will always be honest and open and they will help you to be accountable not only to them but to yourself.

A friend is not afraid to share their heart with you because they love you and want only what is good for you.

A friend is patient. They will have an ear to listen, a heart of concern and a desire to strengthen you.

A friend will pray with you, cry with you and rejoice with you.

I have many friends. New friends and old friends, young and old, who are walking with me on the path that I am on in life. I rejoice that they are here.

I am blessed by the many new friends that have come into my life through Hill Country Thoughts and for that I rejoice. I rejoice that I can laugh with you, cry with you, pray with you and just be here and hopefully be a blessing to my friends both online and off-line.

But Oh, I rejoice even more because I have a friend in Jesus, who is walking with me each and every day. Leading me, guiding me, speaking to me through His word, through His presence and through those that He is bringing into my life.

He is not only my Lord and Savior, He is my Friend!

Till later,

Paul

It's Just A Little Thing!
06.13.04 (3:21 am)   [edit]
What makes us so stubborn, so hardheaded that we allow all common sense to go out the window and do what we think is right when in reality it is wrong and we know it is wrong and we go ahead and do it anyway.

How often have we known in our heart something we were doing was not exactly right or pleasing to the Lord but we say, “It’s just a little thing. It won’t effect me. It won’t hurt others." But then that little thing takes on a life of it’s own and all of a sudden it consumes us and not only us, but others. It spreads and brings destruction.

Just entertaining a little anger can lead to a path of destruction. A little bitterness and a sharp tongue can produce words that are like knives that cut deep and produce wounds of the heart, the soul and the spirit.

There is often in our lives many things that we allow to fester, to become infected. It begins to the destroy the area around it and then it begins to spread. How we heal it, how we treat it, will determine what is going to happen.

Are we going to just let it continue to fester, to become infected, let it spread, to become rotten and put off a putrid oder or are we going to be honest and open with the Lord and allow Him to deal with those little things?

The anger, bitterness, hatred, lust, fear, a sharp tongue. Are we going to allow Him to deal with those things? Are we going to allow Him to apply the healing ointment of His spirit to the wounds, the hurts, the pains. Are we going to allow Him to remove those little things?

Are we going to wake up and realize that there is a battle for our minds, our thoughts and our spirit? To realize how we think effects the way we live. The Word of God says that we are to put on the mind of Christ. That is action on our part. We have to choose to allow His thoughts to be our thoughts, His ways to be our ways.

We have to choose to allow the Lord to deal with those little things, those things that will consume us if they are not dealt with.

Let us choose to follow after the Lord. Let us choose not to entertain those little things that will fester and grow to consume us.

Let healing come to your heart, mind and spirit today!

Till later,

Paul

Anger!!!
06.11.04 (10:26 pm)   [edit]
It was one of those afternoons!

I was wondering what to write, what to share, what to say!

I remember saying, “Lord, what is it that you want me to share this evening. You know it has not been the best of days, ya, I know, it started out super with worship and praise and a sense of your presence, a real peace”

And then WHAM!!!

The enemy smacks you right between the eyes! He hits that hot button that gets you angry, mad, ready to do what ever it takes to deal with the situation and boy are you ready. Your going to show everyone, they are going to know you are here by golly and your not going to take it anymore!!!!

And THEN ... YEP!!! ... that still small voice says “It’s not about you, it’s about me”

“Lord, that’s not fair! I want to take care of this situation! I want to do it my way!”

Again, that still small voice, “It’s not about you, its about me ... it’s about sharing my love, my peace, my rest. It is allowing me to live in you through this trial, through this situation you are in.”

“It is allowing me to live in you. Allowing others to see the reality of who I am in you. To allow others to sense my presence in you and to smell that fragrance of my presence that will draw others to want to know what it is that you have, that gives you that peace, that rest and that comfort. My presence in you will draw others to me.”

So we begin to calm down. We take a deep breath and we say “Yes Lord! It’s all about you!”

Then as we yeild to Him, a peace floods our soul and we are enabled to walk in the ways of the Lord and reflect out of what we are going through, the reality of the life changing power of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Till later,

Paul

Just Thinking Out Loud
06.10.04 (9:03 pm)   [edit]
Right now there are many people who are going through a really tough time, a heavy time spiritually, a heavy heart, who are carrying heavy burdens that they were not meant to carry.

That they are saying “Why Lord, Why am I going through this pain, through this hurt, through this neglect, through this rejection? Why do I feel as if you are a million miles away and that your ears are turned from me, that there is no use to even to try to talk to you?“

“I am afraid, I don’t want to be rejected anymore. I don’t want to feel the loneliness, I want to rest Lord, I want peace.”

Do you know that you are at that place where God can begin to change you? That He can minister to you. When we get to the place finally were we say I can’t do it anymore, I am at the end of myself.

It is at that point that the Lord can speak to you through the word, through those that He brings into your path, physically, spiritually, through things shared in a post, who knows what door the Lord will use as we come to that place of realizing we cannot do it and it allows the Lord to begin to work in us.

That as we come to the Lord with a broken heart that says no more Lord. I am at the end, there is nothing more that I can do. It is when we come to the end of ourselves and know that we cannot change anything, it is at this point that we say, “Here I am Lord, I give myself to You. I trust you Lord that you will begin to teach me your ways. That your word will become a reality and not mere theory. That your word will become alive within me”

His word will begin to flood our soul, our spirit and begin to bring change within us. In Psalms 27:1 we read “The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life: of whom shall I be afraid?

The Lord is our light, He opens our eyes to see and to behold His salvation. He will deliver us from all our fears and replace it with His presence, with His Spirit. He shines the light of His word before us, that we might see and know Him. He is the strength of our life, of whom shall we be afraid. He will lead us in new paths and He will guide us in His ways. He has not given us a spirit of fear but a boldness.

If you are at that point in your life, then it is time to look towards God, to the Lord Jesus Christ and allow Him to restore you, heal you, touch you and bring peace into your life, As I have shared before, following the Lord Jesus Christ is not an easy road, but it is a road worth walking down, knowing that as you walk with the Lord, He walks with you each and every step of the way, even when you can’t see with the natural eye, He is with you and He will never leave you or forsake you.

I know that the Lord will be with us each and every step of the way and that the work that He has done and is doing in us is a work that will last throughout eternity and I know that His plans for us, for those that love Him, are good plans.

Each of us has a talent, a gift, that the Lord wants to use and as we yield to Him, then He will mold us, shape us and fine tune us and make us instrument that can be used for His glory.

Till later,

Paul

On The Porch Again!!!
06.09.04 (11:14 pm)   [edit]
Yep, I am sitting on the porch again :-)

It is such a blessing to sit here and just listen to the crickets, a whole field of them playing in unison and bringing forth the melody of the night.

It is so soothing to just listen and enjoy God’s creation. The wind blowing through the limbs and stirring the leaves with such a unique sound of its own.

Looking at a cloudy and starry night and being in awe of God’s creation and wonder how often we miss the beauty of that which is around us?

It is so sad that sometimes it takes us so long to realize that we need to rest in the Lord, to abandon ourselves to Him and allow the Lord to reveal Himself through His creation or through those that He brings into our path. Not to see them as a hindrance or a bother but as an opportunity to allow the Lord to be seen in us.

It is so important to give thanks to the Lord for all that He has done and will do as we simply learn to say Yes Lord, your will be done, let your life be seen in me.

Take time today, in the midst of a topsy turvey world, to rest for a few minutes, to sit on the porch or lay on the grass. Wherever you are, take a few minutes to meditate on the Lord, remember His words, apply them to your heart and find strength for the day!

Till later,

Paul

On The Road Home
06.09.04 (4:10 pm)   [edit]
Well, I am on the road back home to Junction from San Antonio, using my Alpha-Smart electronic notebook to type :-)

I have been in San Antonio for the last couple of days going through tests. After the blood work that was done yesterday and the colonoscopy that was done today, all the reports show me to still be free of colon cancer. Praise the Lord!!

I guess the thing I really reflected most on today while I was going through the colonoscopy, was the last two times that I was here at Audie Murphy VAMC going though chemotherapy and radiation treatments from February to mid May 2003. The first surgery was done in May 2003, which went basically down hill for a while and had to have the surgery redone in September 2003. The second surgery was a success and I am still in the healing process but I have so much more freedom now then I did before.

Being back in the hospital brought so many memories of the last 17 months, some of fear and some anxiety but mostly memories of the Lord's presence as I went through this time in my life.

As I have shared before this is not a path that I would have chosen but it is a path that the Lord has been with me on every step of the way.

During the months that I was going through chemotherapy and radiation treatments, the Lord gave me many opportunities to exhort, lift up, encourage and pray for others as they too were going through various treatments. Both at the hospital, at the hotel that I was staying at and also at CTRC (Cancer Therapy and Research Center)

It was also the same with the second surgery. The Lord was with me. I was in the hospital for nearly six weeks the first surgery, with one week in ICU. From the time I was in ICU to the surgical floor I had many opportunities to lift up my fellow roommates to the Lord, as will as the doctors and nurses that I came into contact with. I thank them for being the hands that the Lord used to take care of me.

In September 2003 they redid my surgery and I went through it all over again, and again I had many opportunities to share with others, to lift them up, encourage them and pray for them.

What I'am saying today is that I have a lot to be thankful for. I am thankful to the Lord for being here to comfort me, lead me and guide me through the dark nights of my soul, and to embrace me with His love and His presence . He also gave me the honor of being able to share his love and peace with others and to be an encouragement.

We can always count on the Lord being there though we may not see Him, He is there for us. The Lord will never leave us or forsake us. He will be there.

We just need to be still, listen and know that He is God!

Till tomorrow,

Paul

A Refreshing Rain
06.08.04 (5:35 am)   [edit]
As I am sitting here on the porch this morning there is such a freshness in the air.

A smell of freshness that brings with it a sense of cleansing, a removal of staleness, dryness and the hardness of the ground as the rain begins to saturate it. The rain begins to soften the ground and brings life to everything as the rain goes deep into the ground and reaches the roots.

Is that not what the presence of the Lord and the word of God is like? It is a gentle rain to our soul, to our mind, to our heart, that as we meditate on the word, it begins to cleanse our mind of the clutter and calms our spirit so that we can receive of the Lord that which we need to sustain us each day. It is in the stillness of that time that we choose to meditate in the word that we can hear the Lord speak to our heart.

It is in the time of prayer and opening of the word, that the Lord begins to reveal Himself to us. Through the Psalms, Song of Solomon, Joshua, Matthew, Mark, both in the old and new testament that we can draw strength.

King David, He was a man after the heart of God. Yet, he was a man who made a lot of mistakes, errors in judgment, who stumbled in His walk with God, who had to deal with the inner struggles and battles of life.

But he was a man who was quick to repent, to turn away from those things that distracted him. He was a man who spent time in the word of God in the statutes of the Lord.

We read in Psalms 119:8-18 AMP I will keep Your statutes; O forsake me not utterly. (9) How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to it]. (10) With my whole heart have I sought You, inquiring for and of You and yearning for You; Oh, let me not wander or step aside [either in ignorance or willfully] from Your commandments. [II Chron. 15:15.] (11) Your word have I laid up in my heart, that I might not sin against You. (12) Blessed are You, O Lord; teach me Your statutes. (13) With my lips have I declared and recounted all the ordinances of Your mouth. (14) I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies as much as in all riches. (15) I will meditate on Your precepts and have respect to Your ways [the paths of life marked out by Your law]. [Ps. 104:34.] (16) I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. (17) Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live; and I will observe Your word [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying it]. [Ps. 119:97-101.] (18) Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law.

We see how important the word of the Lord is to David. That He sought the Lord with his whole heart, with his whole being, with all that was within in, he inquired of the Lord. He yearn for the Lord. He desired to be taught of the Lord, it was as a treasure and gems to him. He would meditate, dwell on, think upon the word. He would delight himself in the word. He ask God to open his eyes so that he could behold the wondrous things out the word and how much more so now.

The Lord has given us His Holy Spirit to not only open the Old Testament but the New Testament to us, so that the Word becomes alive in us. I have found that as I come into His presence with an open heart towards Him, even when it is heavy, that as I meditate on the word, soak in His presence, that it is often in simplicity that the Lord speaks and makes Himself real and alive to me. No claps of thunder, no bolts of lighting, no super revelations, just simply the Lord speaking to me heart to heart, revealing Himself in love and peace, showing me how to walk in his ways and the things that need to be changed.

So be refreshed this day. Fine time to come into the presence of the Lord, to be still and know that He is God and that He desires to fellowship with you and to bring a freshness to your heart, to your mind and to your spirit.

Till tomorrow,

Paul

Do You Wonder?
06.07.04 (8:02 am)   [edit]
Do you ever wonder sometimes, “Why Bother?”, “What’s the use?”, “Who really cares?”

I think we all have times like that, when we really are fighting a spiritual battle that seems to bring us down to the lowest ebb in our lives. Where there seems to be nowhere to go. Where we are so far down that we can’t even see the top, no way out!

Yet it is at this point in our life that God can reach us because we have run out of “things that we can do” and we have to call out to God for His help, His intervention, to acknowledge that we need Him. That we call to the Lord, that we abandon ourselves to him and as a friend of mine shares at times, “it is time to be dirt honest.”

Another friend recently shared with me, “We have to give the Lord our whole heart, not just a little here and a little there. He wants our whole heart, then and only then can He began to work in our lives, as we give it all to Him and place our total dependency on Him!

In coming to the Lord and making Him Lord of our life, we become His servant, in becoming a servant, we become free, which to the world does not make sense.

As we yield to the Lord, as we give ourselves to Him, He takes the burdens, the hurts and the wounds and replaces it with His presence, His love and He brings healing to our heart, to our spirit, to our mind. He renews and refreshes us as we daily come to Him. He brings healing within.

Even as I was writing this morning, I began with a heart that was heavy with so many hurts, so many wounds and things that I did not understand and still do not fully understand.

But as I sat here on the porch and began to express what the Lord is writing on my heart, then a freedom, a release and a peace came over me and His presence became more real and the burdens of the day were lifted, replaced with the knowledge that God is in control and will aware of the path that I am on and that He will shine the light of His presence and lead me through these times and bring me into His plans and purpose for me.

Our Lord will replace those doubts, those fears and replace it with His presence, His love and He will give us hope, joy and a heart that is pliable in His hands, a heart that can be shaped by Him. That He will teach us to love with His love, to see with His eyes and to walk in His ways!

As the Lord has done for me, I know that He too will do for you!

Be still and know that He is God!

Till later!

Paul

It’s All About Him!
06.06.04 (2:13 pm)   [edit]
“A Heart of Worship” by Matt Redman, what an awesome song. I have been listening to it a lot lately and one of the main statements made in this worship and praise song is, “It’s All About You Lord, It’s All About You!”

Isn’t that what Christianity it is about? About The Lord, about the life changing power of Jesus. The new life, the new beginnings that has been given to us when we came to the point in our life were we accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our savior, the the one that brought us out of bondage, out of fear, out of the life that we were living till we accepted Him.

It is a life changing experience, we are never the same and no it is not easy to walk in the way of the Lord, especially in a world that is bent on doing its own thing with "no help from God,” when the answer is God.

If there were ever a time that the world needed to see the reality of God, this is the time. The world needs to see it is all about Him, about the Lord, of allowing Him into our lives, to not only save us but to change us.

It is a day by day walk, we are being changed, molded by the Holy Spirit, as we allow the hurts, the anger, the bitterness to be removed and replaced with love, joy, peace, rest, an inner working of God. Man tries to change from the outside in and God changes us from the inside out.

Each day as we walk with the Lord, as we learn to come into His presence and we are still, as we yield ourselves to Him, then we become pliable in His hands so he can change us into a people with hope, with joy, with love, a peace and rest within, that in the midst of storms and battles of life, that we can rest in the Lord knowing that He will carry us through and others will see the rest within and hunger for that which they see.

To be a Christian means to be a follower of Christ and to be a follower of Christ means to walk in new life, in power and strength, because it is no longer I that liveth but Christ. We are to manifest the reality of who He is and what He can do in a time such as this.

Till later,

Paul

Rest
06.05.04 (8:10 am)   [edit]
Sitting at Issack's, a local resturant having a cup of coffee and my regular order of fries for breakfast, the breakfast of champion's

Watching people as they come and go this morning. Today it seems many of them are pretty upbeat and restful.

That is the kind of day it is I believe and that is what I am sensing. A time of rest, a time of being still and knowing God and observing His creation.

To look around and behold the beauty of His handiwork in the trees, the flowers, the sky, the clouds, the birds singing.

A time to slow down and smell the beauty of His creation in the rose and to give thanks for that which He has done.

As someone recently shared we often take things for granted. We don't stop and take a few minutes to enjoy that which is around us.

We need to learn to rest in the Lord, to be still and allow the Lord to bring an inner rest to our heart, our mind and our spirit so that we can enjoy the day and the people around us.

Till later!

Paul

A New Day!
06.04.04 (10:13 am)   [edit]
It is 05:30 in the morning as I am writing this, sitting on the front porch, the lantern lit, cool morning breeze blowing, waiting for the dawning of a new day!

Listening to the sounds of the day waking up. The roosters are crowing, the birds are greeting the day with a song, each unique.

The sun is beginning to rise and the darkness of the night slowly fades away taking with it the fears of the night before.

The beginning of a new day has begun. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is yet to arrive but this is the day that the Lord has made.

A fresh start, a new beginning, a new day of choices. We can choose to continue in the anger, the hurts, the bitterness of the failures of the day before or we can choose to follow the Lord in this new day.

We can choose to follow the Lord, to worship and praise Him, we can remember the good things of the day before and lay the hurts, the failures, the anger and bitterness at His feet and choose to worship Him, even when it feels like the last thing that we want to do.

It is in the praise and the worship that we find release, the lifting of the burdens, it is in the presence of the Lord as we arise each day to give Him the first fruit of our lips, to lift up the name of the Lord and allow that presence of His Holy Spirit to come and work within us and bring a peace that only the Lord can bring and enables us to walk this day, not in our strength but in His strength.

So choose this day to walk in the newness of the day, with a heart that has been renewed by being in the presence of the Lord in prayer, praise and worship. It is in the sacrifice of praise and worship that we are set free to enjoy this day that He has given to us.

What Are You Reflecting?
06.03.04 (8:17 am)   [edit]
I was sitting on the porch last night, listening to the sounds of the night life. Crickets were playing the melody of the night and it had a rather soothing effect after a long hot day. It was a little after 11 PM and I was reflecting on the events of the day.

I got to thinking about that word, what does it really mean to reflect? It has a great number of meanings: To throw back, to return, to mirror, to look back, reflect on things.

There is a full moon tonight. It is so beautiful, it is breath taking, lighting up the night sky, reflecting so bright that you can walk by the light of the moon and see so clearly, yet all the moon is doing is reflecting the light that it receives from the sun.

It made me begin to reflect on the Lord, on my relationship with Him and what am I reflecting in my life, in my day to day relationship with Him? What am I reflecting to others?

Am I reflecting the life changing powers of the Lord? Am I reflecting the new life that He has given me. Am I reflecting the talents that He has given me and using them fully for Him.

Do others see in us that new life in Christ? Do they see and sense something in you that draws them to ask what is it about you? What gives you that peace, that glow, that light that seems to be reflecting from within, what gives you that peace?

Again I ask, What are you reflecting this day?

Till later,

Paul

What Do You See?
06.02.04 (6:00 am)   [edit]
Last night was an awesome night!

The first Tuesday of each month we have our Emmaus gathering and it is such a special event and the part that thrills me the most is the time of fellowship during the meal and then to go into the sanctuary to worship and praise the Lord, to hear a word shared and then to take communion.

Do you know what I see when I turn and look at the large gathering? I see a people who have brought meaning to the word unity. They have become one in their worship of the Lord Jesus Christ, that they truly reflect the reality of the Lord.

Here you have Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterians, Church of Christ, Episcopal, Full Gospel, Independent Churches, who have one thing in common this night, their love for the Lord Jesus Christ.

People always ask me, “What faith are you? I would say I am a Christian and they would say, I know that, but what are you?” Again, I would say I am a Christian but I attend the Methodist church, that is where the Lord has put me.

My fellowship is with those who believe in the fundamentals of the faith, the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and His life changing power when we are born again. If we are following the Lord, then we will be changed, daily, ever pressing forward in the Lord, to allow His life to be made manifested in us

We may not all agree on certain parts of doctrine and some questions may never be answered until the day the Lord returns and then it won’t matter, well it?

So let me see what the Lord see's when He see’s His people coming together in unity, in worship and praise. He see’s a people who love Him, who have come together in His name.

He see’s a many membered body of Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterians, Episcopals, Full Gospel, etc coming together to honor Him, to worship Him and I know that
brings a smile to the Heart of God!

As we read in Psa 133:1 “BEHOLD, HOW good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity” and in Verse 3 we read “ It is like the dew of [lofty] Mount Hermon and the dew that comes on the hills of Zion; for there the Lord has commanded the blessing, even life forevermore [upon the high and the lowly].” Amp Bible.

Today!
06.01.04 (8:01 am)   [edit]
What about today?

What makes it so special that I want to rise up and face it?

Why do I want to greet it? What is so special about today?

It is the day that the Lord has made! It is a day to rejoice and be glad!

It is a day to choose to rise with the wings of an eagle and soar into the heavenlies.

What is so special about this day?

It is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it!!

Till later!

Paul

Think on This:

“As we spend that time with the Lord, as we ponder His word, it will bring forth fruit in due season, and it will be life to others as we share those things that the Lord has made real in our lives as we walk with Him, as we go through the trials of life, the dealings, as we mature little by little, we will be able to share with others that which has been made real in our life, not theory but the life changing power of the word" - Paul

Words Aloft

Let my words soar on the rising currents of your spirit

Let my words be powered by the heart of your inspiration

Let my words lead others on the incredible journey to your heart

Let my words reflect the vastness of your Mercy, new every morning!
